I've been told to ground you to the room, on days that I am away; so grounded you are! While we're in the room let's take a look at careers in photography.
Well, were a few weeks into the course, and everyone may be thinking that this photography thing isn't that bad; it might actually be fun once we figure out how to get well composed, and well exposed images. Time for a dose of reality; time to look at what photographers do in the real world. Photographers tend to specialize in various photographic pathways. They specialize in things like: weddings, food, fashion, photojournalism, portraits, architecture, macro-photography, aerial, sports, etc.
What I would like you to do, is to research three categories where photographers might specialize - you can use the examples I've given above, or you can find others.
For each category, I would like for you to:
1. find a photographer who specializes in this area, and describe his/her work.
2. provide a link to a webpage/blog in which we can learn more about this type of photography
3. provide a description of what is involved in this type of photography
4. try to find out what sort of special gear (if there is any) you may need to specialize in the category
5. try to find what you might expect to make as a photographer specializing in the category
6. include an image (and provide reference to where you found it) that exemplifies a 'typical' photograph for each area of specialization
Post your responses to your blog; make a new post for each of the three careers that you research.
